
Omari Simmons’ research interests include corporate governance and international law. Prior to joining the faculty in 2006, Omari worked as corporate counsel for two multinational corporations and as an associate at the law firm of Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering in Washington, D.C. Immediately after law school, he clerked for the Honorable E. Norman Veasey, Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court. Omari is the president of the Simmons Memorial Foundation, Inc. (SMF) a grassroots nonprofit organization, which provides college consulting services to vulnerable students. He is also a board member of the Children’s Theatre of Winston-Salem. He resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with his wife and two daughters.
