Board of Visitors

The purpose of the Board shall be to assist, in an advisory capacity, the Dean, the faculty and students of the School of Law in strengthening its total educational enterprise. This shall include the evaluation of particular programs of the school, its curriculum, and its financial planning. The Board shall also assist in identifying and recruiting outstanding students and faculty for the school.

The further purpose of the Board shall be to help the School of Law formulate and carry out its plans for capital development. The Board's responsibility shall include advice and assistance to the Board of Trustees and the officers of the School and University in their plans to raise funds, the establishment of committees to conduct special fund appeals on request of the Board of Trustees, the identification of potential sources of substantial gifts and bequests, and the cultivation of interest in the School among these sources in order that they may be encouraged to provide such gifts and bequests.

A slate of new members was recently elected to the Law School Board of Visitors. The names of 9 alumni were approved by the board to begin serving new terms on July 1, 2007. Members will serve a four-year term.
